Our Market Calendar has been revised to change dates that St. Pete Locally Grown Market will be open for end of year holidays. Here is the
Revised Calendar which you can always access via a link from the Weblog page. I suggest you save it as a Favorite.
The calendar timeframe is now different in the weeks of October 12th through November 13th. They are now the opposite of what they were on the old calendar. In other words, the weeks that were open for that timeframe are now closed and vice versa.

SAT, AUG 15 – GREENHOUSE GANG WORK DAY AT ICEBOX MINISTRIES IN HARRISBURG – Help us restore this beautiful old greenhouse, smack dab in the middle of Harrisburg. WED, AUG 26 – GEORGIA GROWN FEED MY SCHOOL FIELD DAY EXPO – Burke County hosts a model farm-to-school program that continues to evolve and expand. We at ALG are thrilled to cheer them on! During “Feed My School” week in late August, ALG will run four educational booths at their field-day-like event for hundreds of grade school students. We’ll need a few solid volunteers to help that morning. Please email kim@augustalocallygrown.org if you can pitch in.

SAT, SEPT 12 – “TALK DIRT TO ME” – HEALTHY SOIL EXPO AT THE BOOK TAVERN IN AUGUSTA– In honor of the U.N.‘s International Year of Soil, we’re joining forces with Southern Native Plantings, Longwood Plantation and the Book Tavern to celebrate … yep, GOOD CLEAN DIRT! Come talk and touch earth worms, micronutrients, microorganisms, organic amendments and so much more! Write a “dirt limerick,” win a “Talk Dirt to Me Tshirt,” and get your mind spinning around new, important research coming directly out of this field (pun intended!) Getting down and dirty was never more fun. More details soon.

Joyful Noise Acres Farm: The wider road...
One of things I have loved about driving to our farm is the country lane. One of the things our customers and friends have not loved is the narrow country lane. We now have a wide country lane for all to enjoy. The road is finished and the bank is protected with the beginning of newly planted grass. No more worrying if you are going to meet someone along the way, if you do there is plenty of room to pass.
There is also plenty to choose from on the market. We have fresh butter and cheese in. We have newly processed chickens, pork and beef. Rendered pork lard for your frying and sautéing needs. Lovely spices and seasonings from Home Appetit and much, much more.
This week we want to highlight Snack N Joy Gluten free baking. Aimee makes a wonderful, fresh milled flour mixture called BAM, from Buckwheat, Amaranth and Millet. She makes delicious muffins, cookies, brownies and cheese crackers. Not only does she have the finished baked goods but she is also offering the GF flour and a baking mix that you only have to add an egg, liquid and oil to and any other ingredients for sweet or savory baked goods. This is very easy to bake with and the results are delicious and healing. This week she is offering a free sample of her product when you buy either the flour blend or the baking mix. I hope you give her products a try. you will be surprised at how delicious gluten free baking can be.
